Job:Children and Young Families Worker Greenisland

Greenisland Church of Ireland Strategy Group identified development of children and young families ministry as a priority. The ministry will concentrate on children of primary school age and their parents.

This post is initially for six months as the church explores this ministry in the longer term. This will give opportunity for someone exploring their call to children’s ministry as well as the possibility to influence the direction the church will go as it looks forward.

This post is for 10 hours per week with remuneration of £100 per week.

Responsibilities

To increase contact with children & young families belonging to the church.

To take initiatives to connect with unchurched children and young families in the community.

To help, lead and pioneer current children’s ministry including Sunday Club, Toddler Group, Rainbows, Brownies & Guides, Eat n Mess & All-Age Worship.

To recruit, encourage and train volunteers working with children.

Skills Required

Passionate about children & can relate well to them.

Experience of working with children.

Be self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team.

Able to lead and encourage.

Expectations

To be a committed Christian who desires to see children and parents come to faith and grow as Christians.

To be in full agreement with the mission and beliefs of Greenisland Church of Ireland.

To be committed to the church Sunday worship and weekly activities.

To identify potential funding sources.

To work closely with the rector & Select Vestry.

To complete Safeguarding Trust requirements.
